In the autumn of last year, by winning the national competition Obal roku 2021, we earned the opportunity to apply for the WorldStar Awards. In the end, we received 2 awards – in addition to the classic one in the "other" category, we also won a gold award in the special category for marketing.
The WorldStar Award gala evening took place on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in the futuristic Fiera Milano. Our marketers – Jiří Havránek and Michaela Kudrnová went to Milan as representatives of Colognia. In addition to the great companions of the best of the best and an excellent festive menu, which also included typical Italian pasta and the traditional Tiramisu dessert, we were not deprived of an abundant cultural program either.
Although we have known about the wins in the regular categories since December last year, the results of the awards in the special category for marketing were not known until the last moment. Even if we were afraid to say it out loud, secretly we sincerely hoped that we would appear in the final.
And so it happened. In the end, we made it to the TOP 3 together with great packaging solutions from the companies Tesarist from Turkey and Toyo Seikan Group from Japan. Such an honor to stand right next to these two!

The prestigious international award ceremony and associated gala evening is held every year in one of the countries that is a member of the WPO.
The WorldStar Awards illustrate the continuous advancement of packaging design and technology, creating an international packaging standard from which others can learn. Every year, WPO honors the best of the best from all over the world for innovative packaging solutions. Their aim is nothing less than to raise awareness of the importance of packaging for a better life for all of us and to provide public recognition for the innovation and efforts of brand owners, designers, students and branding agencies in creating the packaging solutions of the future. They mainly emphasize new challenges and global trends, such as sustainability or hygiene.
A gift that will be remembered. It is CoolCAN – an online sales channel based on the web2print solution. The customers create personalized designs for beer cans or energy drinks directly in the website’s editor. The minimum order quantity is 24 pieces. We print the designs using digital technology on a shrink sleeve, which is subsequently placed on the can and shrink to fit.
The entire label production process is automatic. The order passes to the printing machine without human intervention. So the first person to see it is the printer. This automated workflow reduces the error rate and production costs.
