Who are Fresenius Kabi?​

Fresenius Kabi belong to the Fresenius Global Group, one of the worldís preeminent health care companies. They manufacture and supply pharmaceuticals and medical technologies for infusion, transfusion, and clinical nutrition to care for critically and chronically ill patients.

Important milestones of the cooperation

2005 | Opening of the FRESENIUS HEMOCARE CZ, S.R.O. manufacturing plant.

2007 | Colognia press, a.s. approved as a certified partner for deliveries to the Czech Republic.

2008 | Colognia press, a.s. approved as a certified partner for deliveries to Austria.

2013 | Linked up to the ordering system of the production plant in Austria. Automatic data export/import for the Czech plant. Project to mark storage positions in the new central warehouse in Hořátev.

Client requirements

For us, top quality and zero defects are standard in every industry. But in the pharmaceutical sector, the emphasis is just that bit stronger. We have seen this first-hand with this collaboration. The clientís requirements were uncompromising:

  • A control mechanism to eliminate mix-ups between different types of labels.
  • Supplier flexibility – a contractual guarantee of delivery within 3 working days of the order.
  • Elimination of any risk of contamination to the supplied labels.
  • Use of certified materials and low-migration inks suitable for pharmaceutical use.
  • Guaranteed 100% quality (print, material, colour, permanence).
  • The testing and approval of a binding technological procedure for the production of labels.
  • Regular annual audit of processes and procedures.

Our solution

We designed and developed a special workflow for the client for ordering, assigning, producing and storing individual types of labels. The result is an optimised ordering process that eliminates any possible simultaneous production of different types of labels.

Extremely short delivery times, together with eliminating any risk of contamination, resulted in us devising an exceptional solution to the situation. A production machine dedicated exclusively to clients in the pharmaceutical industry. We use materials from reputable manufacturers. The substrate supply partner is Avery Denison. Low-migration inks approved for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries are supplied by the multinational company CNI.

The client demands a 100% quality guarantee. This strict requirement can only be delivered using a systematic approach, so we implemented a camera system combined with software that compares the print result with a reference label design stored in a computer. In addition, we have introduced regular above-standard training for operators dedicated to printing pharma labels. These trainings are mainly focused on the printing process and technological procedures. We regularly audit the knowledge of our operators together with our client.
